Lucky Dube – Back to my Roots

Lucky Dube Back to my Roots:

Back to my Roots is a roots reggae song by South African reggae musician and instrumentalist, Lucky Dube, from his 1988 album Slave.

The song appeared as the second track on the B-side of the album vinyl.

The conscious reggae song talks about the negative influence of the secular music which was becoming increasingly popular at the time, which Dube says “was not good for the rastaman or any Jah man”.

Back to my Roots has gone on to attain worldwide popularity and is considered to be one of Dube’s signature songs.
